Food paper packaging in Europe generally uses cartons, paper bags, paper tubes, and paper cans. In European restaurants, food is "packaged" on a sheet-by-sheet basis. Among all kinds of paper packaging, paper bags account for the largest share, such as: various grain processed products, flour, rice, rice flour, potato flour, corn flour are packed in paper bags; baked food made on site, fresh food in supermarkets, Fruits and vegetables are also mostly packed in paper bags; for foods such as tomatoes and strawberries that are afraid of pressure, they are first packed in paper boxes and then packed in paper bags. In food paper packaging, the second largest amount should be paper disposable containers, such as paper cups and lunch boxes.
In any restaurant, such as McDonald's, pizzerias, and many fast food restaurants that sell fried fish and potato chips in the streets and stations, paper cups and boxes are mainly used to hold food. The third most used paper packaging is beverage packaging, and paper cans are widely used in the packaging of various fruit juices, vegetable juices, milk, and yogurt foods. In addition, paper packaging is also used in the packaging and containers of various cooked foods, fast food, meat products, snacks and other foods.
In Hungary and Germany, the use of paper food packaging materials is larger than that in my country, and the application targets are also wider. The development of food paper products in Europe has mainly gone through three stages:
The first stage was before World War II. At that time, the production of food paper packaging in Europe was at a low level, and the quality of paper packaging for food was poor, with few varieties and low output;
The second stage was from the 1950s to the 1960s. With the technical progress of food packaging materials, the quality of paper materials has been greatly improved. The advancement of packaging machinery and production equipment coordination skills has promoted the rapid development of the paper packaged food industry. The quality and output of paper packaging are relatively high. Substantial improvement, the corresponding packaging system standards have also been improved, these breakthroughs in management and technology, so that the "replacement of wood with paper" packaging improvement work has been completed.
The third stage is from the 1960s to the late 1970s. At present, the quality of paper food packaging materials has been further developed, and the strength of paper has basically reached the level that can replace tin cans and aluminum cans, which makes the application scope and adaptability of paper food packaging materials stronger. The subsequent development of disposable paper tableware, single wall paper cup,paper plates, paper cups, etc. has greatly promoted the market consumption of paper food packaging containers.
